Does it work?

Yes! Refugee Action has been at the forefront of influencing government policy on refugee and asylum issues for the last twenty years. Our direct client work enables us to inform policy makers of the problems facing refugees and asylum seekers in a very practical way.

successes here:

Influencing policy

Women

We are working on destitution as part of the Still Human Still Here coalition of 29 organisations, which includes Amnesty International, Refugee Council, Children's Society and the Red Cross. So far, we have already secured meetings with the Home Secretary to discuss the issue and our recommendations.

But now we need you to add your voice to help make our campaign to end destitution successful, and help the thousands of refused asylum seekers living in limbo out of their terrible situation, and on the road to a life of dignity. You can make a difference. Please see our 'take action' page for ideas on what to do.

"I was taken away in a car by the secret police. It was terrifying. They interrogated me and accused me of being a foreign spy."
